Hello!
I'm an award-winning animator and director based in Cardiff, South Wales. I direct and produce animation through my animation studio and production company Picl Animation.
My animated short films have been screened at over 100 festivals around the world, and my Ffilm Cymru- and BFI Network-funded short Creepy Pasta Salad was shortlisted for the 2020 Best Short Animation BAFTA and nominated for Best Short Film at the 2020 BAFTA Cymru awards.
I am Festival Director of Cardiff Animation Festival, a biennial four-day celebration of animation for everyone, held at venues across Cardiff and online. I have been running events since 2014, when I founded Cardiff Animation Nights, popular bi-monthly screenings of award-winning independent animated films from around the world in Cardiff City Centre.
I specialise in 2D digital and mixed media animation. I make animation for broadcast, documentaries, theatre and live performance, and animated short films, music videos, corporate videos and charity campaigns. I have worked with clients and collaborators including Channel 4, ITN, BBC3, S4C, Twt Productions, Boom Cymru, Charlotte Church, Joanna Quinn, Wales Millennium Centre, The National Theatre, The Globe Theatre and Arts Council Wales.
I have been a jury member for BAFTA, the British Animation Awards, Leeds International Film Festival and Manchester Animation Festival. I am a Trustee of Chapter Arts Centre, a founding member of the Alliance of British Animation Exhibitors (ABAE), and sat on the Advisory Panel for Anim18, a year-long UK-wide celebration of British Animation.
I am also an experienced workshop leader, with 20 years' experience facilitating creative workshops for young people and adults.
I have lived in Cardiff since 2010, and have a degree in Animation from the University of Wales, Newport.
If you are interested in finding out more about any of my work, commissioning some animation or exhibiting any of my films please get in touch.
